RAW Combat footage of US Troops in Afghanistan
After publishing my 100th video, I realized that the footage from my tour in Afghanistan only covered the war from a Canadian soldier's perspective. I recently partnered with several of my American brothers in arms to bring everyone back home a view from the American Soldier.
My latest video was contributed by a soldier in Battery 3-321 and demonstrates the devastating power of the M777 Howitzer against a Taliban foot patrol.
To all my viewers, thank you for your support! If you have any questions please subscribe to my channel and contact me via YouTube, or follow me on Facebook

Raw Unedited Footage from Afghanistan
There’s a new YouTube channel making waves throughout the military community created by an infantry soldier deployed with Bravo Company 2PPCLI in 2008. For the purpose of this interview I will refer to him as Scott C.
To view Scott’s YouTube videos click the photo below, also below the link to Scotts YouTube you will find the rest of the interview with this soldier who thankfully returned home to share his story with us.
Why did you create this YouTube Channel:
Scott: After showing some of the footage from my platoon to family and friends I realized how oblivious most people are to what it is actually like over there. I couldn’t believe that some people still thought Canada was just peacekeeping after all these years. I started my channel to spread the word further that Canada has once again built a strong, professional military force. I couldn’t believe the amount of messages flowing in from people in the US, the UK and even Canada, who didn’t even know we had a military! It is a great feeling knowing you are able to open so many peoples eyes to the reality of our mission in Afghanistan, and the sacrifices that so many have made and continue to make.

Pennies For Patriotism website launched
In Feb 2011, I was informed by Kevin McHarg of Hero To Hero Team Canada about a little girl from Ontario doing something amazing for our wounded soldiers by collecting Pennies. She believe that sometimes our wounded soldiers are like pennies in that people put them aside and forget about them. When I first heard this I was blown away and featured an interview with Autumn on the Thank A Soldier Monthly blog page.
After hearing that Autumn wanted her own website I contact a friend at my work who runs Alysia Lynn Web Designs who was more than happy to design a website for her at no cost. I then contacted Kevin McHarg from Hero To Hero Team Canada and asked him if he would like to be a part of splitting the cost and he didn’t hesitate.
I want to give a huge thank you to Alysia H. and Kevin McHarg for joining forces with me on this project and a HUGE thank you to Autumn for starting the idea.
So with that being said we are very excited to announce :

Thank Our Troops evening - Calgary, Alberta
Thank Our Troops Evening – The Military Museums
Kin Canada is proud to announce that the Portraits of Honour mural will soon be arriving in Calgary. The Portraits of Honour mural is touring the country to honour our fallen soldiers, and to raise money for the Portraits of Honour Fund. Portraits of Honour is dedicated to providing financial support that will help. This tour will provide Canadians from coast to coast with an opportunity to honour and celebrate our Canadian soldiers, pay respect to those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice and to recognize the challenges that face those who will return home with lasting physical or emotional injuries.
We are very happy to extend an invitation to our “Thank Our Troops” evening at the Military Museums in Calgary on Monday September 19th. This special evening is meant as a “Thank You” to the men and women in our many branches of the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans. It is a casual “come and go” event to allow you to see this incredible mural, view the museums, and spend some time with friends. The creator of this mural, and a CAV member, Mr. Dave Sopha will be on hand to enjoy the evening with you.
The Military Museums have been a great support in this event by extending their 5:00 pm closing time to 8:00 pm on the 19th. The admission charge to view this fantastic facility has also been waived for this special event. There will hamburgers and drinks available and proceeds will be donated to the Portraits of Honour fund.
To view a short video about the mural go to this youtube link.
In addition to the Thank Our Troops evening, there will be a public display on Stephens Avenue Mall on the morning of the 19th and a Gala Fundraising Dinner at Heritage Park, featuring General Rick Hillier ret. as the guest speaker, on the evening of Tuesday Sept 20th. Information on all our plans for the Calgary visit are available at our website www.portraitsofhonourcalgary.ca
We want this evening to be one to remember. Please help us spread the word. Forward this invitation to your friends and help us honour our fallen.
